2004 Merlot
Harvested on a cool morning in mid-September 2004, at 27° brix, and "field blended" with 3.5 tons of Merlot and 1/2 ton of Syrah. The grapes were pressed, bottled and aged at the former Davis Bynum Winery in the Russian River Valley.
The wine was created following protocol we developed during five years of award-winning winemaking. After fermenting the wine was aged in one year-old French oak for 16 months and matured another 2 years in the bottle prior to release.
The wine has a deep rich mouth feel and color, complex flavors, with a long silky finish. Our Fichtenberg Vineyards Merlot pairs well with dishes and meats commonly associated with bigger, bolder varietals. Click here to download tasting notes for this wine.
2008 Pinot Noir Saignée

The Saignée (to bleed in French) was crafted in the French style, where the fruit has a longer hang time, allowing it to be picked at a higher brix. It is perfect for summer sipping or enhancing a light meal. It delightfully pairs with a Cobb salad, or a sautéed petrale sole with a fresh lemon squeeze on a hot summer afternoon. 2007 Syrah
For this Syrah we source the fruit from two small blocks at the southwest corner of our ranch. Crop thinning and canopy management are utilized to control the vigor and maintain the fruit intensity in these select blocks. Prior to fermentation the grapes go through a cold-soak for 5 days to capture more color and the intense wild berry flavors from the Syrah.

2007 "Family Cuvée"

Each year our family gets together and reviews our wines from the previous vintage. Our primary goal being to produce a reserved-oriented blend (from the individual lots) that best represents the estate and that particular growing season. The is the result. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it for you. Click here to download tasting notes for this wine.
